Praying with an Agenda

I have a list of things I like to pray for.  I want to make sure I don’t forget anything or anybody. This is good.  I call this the business part of prayer.

After I get the “to do” list done in my prayer, I can focus on just being with the Lord, and allowing God to speak to my heart.  This, of course, is the relationship building part of prayer, the time when I’ve done all my talking and pleading and I’m ready to listen.  It’s the time for the Lord to teach me, console me, build me up and correct me.

And He never lets me down.
